After being educated in London and Canada, Chanoch was sent by the Rabbinical College of Quebec - Tomche Tmimim in Montreal, to spend a year studying and working closely with the Sydney Jewish community. In February 2001, he joined the team at Chabad North Shore (Sydney) as Baal Tefillah on Shabbat and Festivals, and began running youth programs and activities for children and teens.
In September 2002, Chanoch moved to St Ives and began working full-time on programs and activities at Chabad House and other community work. In September 2003, shortly after they married, Chanoch and Sarah Chanah moved to St Ives, with Chanoch continuing his work at Chabad House, Sarah Chanah teaching in the Pre-school and connecting with young families.
In May 2007 Chanoch and Sarah Chanah met with a new challenge as they embarked on a new mission to establish a centre of Torah learning in Brisbane, Queensland.
Chanoch's smiling face is embraced by the hearts of many in the local and wider community. Through his friendly charisma, he brings happiness and joy to others, and has genuine care for all. |
